pCloud lifetime only pays off if you keep the plan for at least 5 years and pCloud keeps running. At the USD prices we read on 2026-11-06, each lifetime plan reaches the cost of the yearly plan in year 5. After that, you are ahead. Before that, you have paid more.

pCloud lifetime vs yearly, in USD

PlanLifetime priceYearly priceBreak-evenYearly total at break-even
500 GBUSD 219USD 49.99Year 5USD 249.95
2 TBUSD 499USD 99.99Year 5USD 499.95
10 TBUSD 1,499USD 299.99Year 5USD 1,499.95

The 2 TB row is tight. Four yearly payments total USD 399.96, and the fifth takes you to USD 499.95, just 95 cents above the lifetime price. These sums assume the yearly price never changes.

A price rise would not move the answer much. At 5% a year, the 2 TB yearly plan still crosses USD 499 in year 5, at USD 552.51. At 10% a year, it is also year 5, at USD 610.45. Try your own numbers in the lifetime calculator.

The page strikes through higher lifetime prices: USD 279, USD 709 and USD 2,799. It shows no end date. So we treat the prices above as current, not as permanent.

What "lifetime" means at pCloud

pCloud's terms say a lifetime plan lasts for "the lifetime of the account owner or 99 years, whichever is shorter". So it is your lifetime, not the company's promise of forever.
